Another Thought For Today

The sweetest time of the day is......
When you pray. Why? Because you're talking to the One who loves you most!

Happy Birthday Josh!

Saturday was my brother's 19th birthday. 19! We had sausage, gravy, and biscuits for breakfast (Josh's favorite!)  Then Josh opened his gifts from all of us.
Silas was so excited when Josh opened the gift from him, sour warheads. Silas made sure that Josh tried them right then. They definitely were sour!!! Good job, Silas!

Josh had to go to work on his birthday but we surprised him at his work and gave him some cheesecake. We also surprised him by writing on his car. Dad wrote "Honk! It's my birthday!" But somehow when Josh came home the "Honk!" wasn't there anymore. It was somehow wiped off. Hmmm.....I wonder how that happened? :)
Happy Birthday Josh!!! Love you!

Fun Popcorn Visits

We love living in High Springs, but sometimes its hard not being near grandparents and cousins who are in Fort Myers. But thankfully we have had many visits from family and friends. Recently my grandparents came and stayed for a night, as they went up north for vacation. Then after them my aunt, uncle, and cousins came up to our house to stay for a night too. We had so much fun showing them our mini "farm" and downtown High Springs.

We got them hooked on a game called Scotland Yard. We played it like 5 times while they were here. They said that they will be looking for it on their vacation!

Me and Sarah were teasing that they all played games while we slaved in the kitchen. But all we really did was make coleslaw and put the tater tots in the oven. :)

                                                     (Thanks for the photobomb Dad!)

Silas absolutely loved having a little boy around that was his age. He had so much fun playing basketball, baseball, and soccer with Ty!

Thanks so much Dillehay's for coming to visit us!!!

Meet My Family

So, for this post, I'd like to introduce to my family! In the pic above is my Mom and Dad. They are the best parents ever! July 2 will be their 21 anniversary. They met in High school while my mom was working at Burger King and have been together ever since. My Dad was in the Air Force until he surrendered to be a preacher. They have not missed a day in church and love the Lord very much! I wouldn't trade parents for anything!
This is my oldest brother Joshua. (And yes, that is his "friend" Tabitha. They have been writing for almost a year now. They met at camp in Port Charlotte at a church called Tri-City.) My brother is 18 years old. Right now he has a job at a hardware store and loves working there!
This is my older sister (by 16 months) Elisabeth. She is my best friend. She loves horses and has a mare called Sugar Rose.  Next year will be her Senior year. (just to let you know, when  she has her graduation I'm going to ball my eyes out) A couple of days ago I just started crying when mom was talking about Beth getting married in the future. sniff sniff
This is Silas. He's six. Right now he's at a bee meeting with my mom. They are both really into bees and really like the beehive that we got. (I'm scared of anything that flies, so bees are on that list) Silas loves breakfast and will eat like three bowls of cereal, a granola bar, and pancakes all in one day for breakfast! He's really into telling jokes lately too.
This is Callie Grace. She just turned 5 in May. She was so excited on her birthday because she doesn't have to take naps anymore, she just has to have a little quiet time! She's loves anything princess and was SO excited when Grandma got her a princess dress for her birthday. Love this girl!
And this is the baby of the family, Micah! At 3 years old, he is full of energy! I love Micah's  dimple!  He really loves watching the deer outside. Whenever this little kid comes around he makes us all smile. So cute!
So this is my family! I'm so thankful the Lord gave me a family like this!

Just A Little Thought For Today

A couple weeks ago I read a book called Sister Friends by Francie Taylor. She is an amazing author and I enjoyed that book immensely! I just wanted to share with you guys a quote from in the book.

Be careful the environment you choose, for it will shape you; be careful the friends you choose, for you will become like them.

That quote is SO true. We need to be very careful about the friends we choose, because their attitudes and actions will rub off on us and we will start becoming like them without realizing it. While choosing your friends, ask yourself; "Would Jesus have have a close friend like this?"

All About Me

Just so you can get to know me better, I want to share what the Lord has done in me and my family's life.
I was born on July 6, 1999. When I was 6 the Lord called me and my family to share the Gospel with others on the island of St.Barths in the West Indies. We packed up all of our stuff, sold our house in Fort Myers, bought a motor home, and started traveling.
Trying to raise enough money to be able to get to the mission field, we went all across the U.S.! It is really scary going to a different church every service and meeting new people! (especially if you are like me...really shy!)  But we had an amazing time! I absolutely loved going to Mission's Conferences! If I had to choose a favorite preacher, I don't think I could. They were all really great!
After 3 years of Deputation, we traveled up to Canada to learn French, so that we would be able to communicate with the people on St. Barths. Going from Florida to Canada was a huge change! At first we loved all the snow! But then after several months it got kinda tiring. :)  Sledding is so much fun though!
Even more memories were made while we were in Canada. Like Old Quebec and Poutine (fries with gravy and squeaky cheese...Yum!) But after 2 years we had to leave and continue our work for the Lord. The next destination on our list: The West Indies!
Going to St. Barths was my first time to fly in a plane. I was so scared! The big jet that took us to St. Martin wasn't so bad. It was the tiny, bumpy plane that took us from St. Martin to St. Barths that was super scary! But you couldn't get a better view of the island!
Every Sunday morning we would have a Bible Study with several other ladies. We were able to lead 5 people to the Lord while there! Isn't that great? After 2 years my mom got really sick and went to several doctors on the island. They did not know what was making her feel that way, so they said to send my mom back to the U.S. She was gone for 2 whole months. That was really hard on the rest of us back on the island! I can't explain what's its like to be in a different country, without your mom, not knowing what is wrong with her!
Then one day she was diagnosed with cancer. Hearing her on the phone with my dad, them both crying, was really tough. We had to pack up and head back to the U.S. So many people were praying for my mom. And I believe it is because of their prayers that the cancer disappeared. The doctor's finally diagnosed her with Lyme Disease. But that meant that we had to be close to her doctors in America  and couldn't go back to St. Barths.
We had no idea what the Lord had in store for us. Our mission board was such a blessing and wanted us to start thinking about church planting in the U.S. Every night we would go state by state praying about where God would have us go. Finally as we were passing through a little town called High Springs, we knew that that was where He wanted us to plant a church.
Victory Springs Independent Baptist Church's opening day was March 22. On opening day a 31-year old man accepted Christ as his Savior. Since then  3 others got saved. Our biggest day was Memorial Day, 36 were there!
The Lord has been SO good to us. I just can't thank Him enough for bringing us here!

Welcome!

Welcome to my diary! My name is Brenna Gimenez, and I am 15 years old (turning 16 in July...Yay!) I am an independent baptist and am working with my family to start a church in High Springs, Florida.  The Lord has been SO good to me and my family! I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. (Later on I will share a post about my family)
This blog will be kinda like my memory book. I want to post TONS of pictures! And somedays I will even share what the Lord has spoken to me in my daily devotions.
I hope this will be a blessing to you! And I hope that this blog will be a testimony to other young girls like me! Enjoy!
